Tancho San San Kudo Wedding Sake Set

The most poignant portion of a traditional Japanese Shinto Wedding Ceremony is always the San San Kudo ritual of the bride and groom drinking sake together. Symbolizing a deepening and strengthening of the bonds between the couple, each person takes three sips from each of three flat sake cups exchanging the cups with one another each time. The sake is then offered to the couple's families to augment the bond to include the two clans as well. Our stunning, traditional San San Kudo set is beautifully lacquered a ceremonial vermilion and highlighted by the classic Japanese symbol for longevity, fidelity and prosperity, the crane. This crane is hand-painted throughout the set, consisting of a serving tray, cup-altar table, three sake cups, and a sake pitcher.
