Lega Bwami African Mask
These Lega tribal African masks were used for Bwami initiation ceremonies. "Bwami" is the association of knowledge and tribal wisdom which Lega men must follow though their lives. Though their accomplishments, these men earn the right to be initiated into higher levels of knowledge. Most Lega masks, like this one, have long flowing raffia beards.
